Application and benefits

Fertibor® is a free-flowing, highly soluble granular material that leaves no residue. As a versatile source of elemental boron, Fertibor is a valuable addition to solid, liquid, or suspension fertilizers.

Because Fertibor granules are free flowing and consistently sized, they are easy to handle, whether pneumatically or mechanically. This property makes Fertibor an asset for granulated compound fertilizer manufacturers.

The product can also be applied directly to the soil, to correct boron deficiency in perennial plantation crops. Or mix Fertibor into solid growing media or composts—the product is a popular choice for palm oil crops, for example.

The dosage rates for young and mature oil palm depend on the soils and the yields of the new planting materials, but the standard application in young oil palm is 1.76 oz (50 g) per palm in the first year, increasing to 3.5 to 7 oz (100 to 200 g)  per palm each year for the next three to five years. After that, Fertibor can be applied regularly, depending on leaf analysis results and visual symptoms in the field.

To calculate the amount of Fertibor required, multiply the elemental boron required by 6.6.

FACT
Growers commonly experience a 20%+ increase in yields by using Fertibor.

Growers worldwide have relied on Fertibor for improved crop yields and quality for more than 35 years. Palm oil growers increase yield by 20% or more by using Fertibor.

Technical details

Fertibor contains 15.0% boron. It’s bulk density is 63 lb/ft3 (1009 kg/m3) for loose pack and 71 lb/ft3 (1137 kg/m3) for tight pack.

When it comes to boron supplementation, quality matters. Like all U.S. Borax refined boron products, Fertibor is made from only high-quality sodium borates, with no impurities, fillers, coatings, or added ingredients. Fertibor meets or exceeds all existing standards for effectiveness and purity. Learn why refined boron is the best choice for crops.
